James Ochieng

Born where the wildlife roams.

James grew up in Nairobi alongside the wildlife he now shares with visitors from around the world. For him, the Masai Mara isn't a destination — it's home. And that difference shows the moment you're out in the field with him.

A qualified safari guide with over 15 years of experience, James has an almost supernatural ability to read the landscape. He knows where the leopard will be before the leopard does.

Beyond the wildlife, James is a natural storyteller. He brings Kenya and Tanzania to life not just as places to see animals, but as countries with deep cultures, complex histories and extraordinary people.

He is also involved in community conservation projects in the Mara region, working with local Maasai communities to ensure that tourism genuinely benefits the people who live alongside the wildlife.
