The agreement between you and Tourio when you book a trip. Last updated August 2026.
These Booking Conditions, together with the information on the relevant tour page, form the agreement between you and Tourio (“we”, “us”) for your trip. Please read them carefully — by paying a deposit you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted them on behalf of everyone in your booking. Tourio operates small-group adventure tours and can be contacted at info@tourio.co.uk.
To book, contact us to confirm availability and we will send you a written confirmation and invoice. A deposit of 20% of the tour price is required to secure your place. A binding contract comes into existence when we receive your deposit and issue written confirmation of your booking. The person making the booking must be 18 or over and is responsible for all payments due.
The balance of your tour price is due 60 days before departure. For bookings made within 60 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking. If we do not receive full payment by the due date, we may treat your booking as cancelled by you and apply the cancellation charges below.
Prices are per person in GBP and confirmed at the time of booking. Your tour price includes the items listed on the relevant tour page (typically accommodation, guiding, listed transport, listed activities and the meals shown). It does not include international flights, travel insurance, visas, tips, personal expenses, or anything described as “not included”. We reserve the right to correct genuine errors in advertised prices before your booking is confirmed.
If you wish to amend a confirmed booking (for example your dates or chosen tour), we will do our best to help and may charge an amendment fee of £50 per change plus any costs we incur. You may transfer your place to another person who meets the requirements of the trip, provided you give us reasonable notice and cover any additional costs.
Cancellations take effect only when we receive them in writing. Because we commit to costs from the moment you book, the following charges apply according to how many days before departure we receive your written cancellation: more than 60 days before departure — deposit only; 59–30 days — 50% of the tour price; 29–15 days — 75%; 14 days or fewer — 100%. We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation for reasons beyond your control.
We plan trips well in advance and occasionally need to make changes; most are minor. If we have to make a significant change to your itinerary, or cancel your trip, we will tell you as soon as possible and offer you the choice of a suitable alternative trip or a full refund of all monies you have paid to us. Except where caused by force majeure or your failure to pay, we will not cancel your trip within 30 days of departure.
We are not liable for any change, cancellation, loss or additional cost caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control. These include (but are not limited to) war, civil unrest, terrorism, government or border action, natural disaster, epidemic or pandemic, extreme weather, fire and industrial action.
Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of travelling with Tourio. As a minimum it must cover emergency medical expenses, emergency repatriation, and the activities included in your chosen trip. We may ask to see your policy details before departure. It is your responsibility to ensure your cover is adequate.
You are responsible for holding a valid passport and obtaining any visas, permits and vaccinations required for the countries on your trip. We will give general guidance, but entry and health requirements are ultimately your responsibility, and we are not liable for any costs, delays or refused entry resulting from incomplete or incorrect documentation.
Each trip shows an activity level on its page. You are responsible for ensuring you are in suitable health to take part, and for telling us at the time of booking about any medical condition, disability, or dietary requirement so that we can advise on the trip’s suitability and make reasonable arrangements where possible.
We want every traveller to enjoy their trip. If, in the reasonable opinion of our leader, your behaviour is endangering the safety or seriously disrupting the enjoyment of the group, we may require you to leave the trip with no refund and no liability on our part. You are responsible for any loss or damage you cause during your trip.
We take reasonable skill and care to arrange and deliver your trip as described. Except where the law provides otherwise, our liability to you is limited to the price you paid for your trip. Nothing in these conditions limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded. We are not responsible for services you arrange independently (such as flights you book yourself) that do not form part of our contract with you.
If a problem arises during your trip, please tell your Tourio leader straight away so we have the chance to put it right on the spot. If the matter cannot be resolved at the time, please write to us at info@tourio.co.uk within 28 days of returning home and we will respond promptly.
We handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
