Why travel with Tourio

🧭

20 years of experience

Our team has led small-group adventures across Asia, East Africa, the Caucasus and South America since 2006. We know the routes we run inside out — and we run them personally.

👥

Small groups only

Never more than 10 people on this tour. Small groups move differently — you get into places larger groups can't, spend more time in the moment and actually get to know the people you're travelling with.

✈️

Int'l flights not included

You book your own flights, so you have full flexibility over your dates, airline and route. We're always happy to advise on the best connections — just ask when you enquire.

💬

Real conversations

No booking engine. Enquire and our team will be in touch within 24 hours to discuss everything personally — and to tailor the trip around your schedule and what matters most to you.

Before you book — good to know

  1. The liveaboard is a comfortable wooden phinisi-style boat with en-suite cabins and air conditioning. Cabins are cosy rather than spacious.
  2. Komodo dragons are wild animals. Park rangers accompany all treks and you must stay with the group at all times. They are genuinely dangerous.
  3. The Komodo archipelago has some of the strongest tidal currents in Indonesia. The liveaboard captain monitors conditions carefully and adapts the route accordingly.
  4. Best time for Komodo: April–August (dry season, calmer seas). October–March can see rougher conditions.
  5. The Komodo leg is by boat — three nights aboard — so it suits travellers happy with simple cabins and time on the water.
