Thailand's two great cities — Bangkok's kinetic energy and Chiang Mai's mountain serenity — linked by a journey through the kingdom's spiritual heart. Visit the Grand Palace, cruise Bangkok's canals, explore ancient Sukhothai and spend time in the hill tribe villages and elephant sanctuaries of the north.

Why travel with Tourio

🧭

20 years of experience

Our team has led small-group adventures across Asia, East Africa, the Caucasus and South America since 2006. We know the routes we run inside out — and we run them personally.

👥

Small groups only

Never more than 10 people on this tour. Small groups move differently — you get into places larger groups can't, spend more time in the moment and actually get to know the people you're travelling with.

✈️

Int'l flights not included

You book your own flights, so you have full flexibility over your dates, airline and route. We're always happy to advise on the best connections — just ask when you enquire.

💬

Real conversations

No booking engine. Enquire and our team will be in touch within 24 hours to discuss everything personally — and to tailor the trip around your schedule and what matters most to you.

Before you book — good to know

  1. This tour starts in Bangkok and ends in Chiang Mai. You'll need separate international flights in and out of each city, or book a round-trip to Bangkok and take a cheap domestic flight home from Chiang Mai.
  2. The overnight sleeper train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai is one of Thailand's classic travel experiences. First-class cabins have air conditioning and beds.
  3. The elephant sanctuary is a genuine rescue and welfare operation — no riding, no shows, no hooks. We have carefully vetted the sanctuary we use.
  4. Chiang Mai's Sunday Walking Street is one of the best markets in Southeast Asia. If your final night falls on a Sunday, this is a highlight.
  5. Thailand's best travel months are November to April (cool, dry season). May–October brings rain but also lush green scenery and fewer tourists.
